Fr. Roger Haight's, SJ, book Christian Spirituality for Seekers won the Catholic Press Association's prize of First Place, in the category The Year of Faith, an ad hoc category celebrating the Year of Faith declared by Benedict XVI.

Fordham at World Youth Day

Fordham University's World Youth Day delegation of 14 students and two campus ministers left on July 11 for Brazil. They arrived in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, where they are participating in MAGIS 2013. Click here to read more.

Generous Gift to Xavier High School in Chuuk

Xavier High School on the island of Chuuk in Micronesia recently received a generous gift from Pat and Aja Stokes of $250,000 - $50,000/year for the next 5 years, through The Stokes Family Charitable Fund. Read more.

Gates Scholar from Xavier Chuuk

Yota Oue from Xavier Higschool in Chuuk, Micronesia, was awarded the Gates Scholarship and will be attending Fordham University this coming Fall. Click here to read more.

Jesuit School Service Trips

Recently, 10 Saint Peter's University students participated in a two-week service trip to Ecuador through Campus Ministry's Global Outreach: Service and Solidarity program. Additionally, a group of 25 Xavier High School sophomores took to First Fruits Farm, in Maryland, last week to harvest crops that will benefit shelters, soup kitchens and food pantries in the Washington-Baltimore area.

New Play Directed by Fr. Drance
Fr. George Drance, SJ, (WIS) is directing and acting in a play entitled Occupy Olympus a modern retelling of Aristophanes' satirical play Plutus God of Wealth. The play is running until August 25 at the Flamboyán Theater in New York City. Click here to read more.

Two new teachers have joined the staff of Yap Catholic High School. They are Jesuit Scholastic Pat Nolan and Mrs. Gina Banua. Click here to read more. First Vows 2013

Five men from the Maryland, New England and New York Provinces professed first vows of poverty, chastity and obedience on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt, NY.
